Women’s Caucus

The YDNC Women’s Caucus works to unite young women through all stages of the political process by educating, engaging, mobilizing, and empowering women voters. We are here to help progressive females successfully run for political office, to increase voter turnout among women, to stress the urgency of our issues, to organize around common causes, and to serve as a great source for both networking and personal development.

To become a member, an individual simply needs to attend a YDNC Women’s Caucus business meeting or event, subscribe to our Facebook group or help out with an official activity. Voting members will be democratic women ages 18-35, but males are also invited to attend caucus events. In accordance with the Young Democrats of America Women’s Caucus’s Transgender Inclusion Statement, the term “women” includes all persons who self identify as female, regardless of the gender assigned at birth.

Our mascot is Susie Stanton- named after two famous suffragists, Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cadie Stanton- and she’s ready to help our state “think pink”!

The Caucus will host an array of events in its mission to serve as a sort of sisterhood organization amongst young democrats, from voter registration drives, book club circles, issue-oriented rallies and picnics, lobbying days at the General Assembly, volunteer opportunities at domestic violence shelters, mentoring sessions for younger women, to ceremonies in recognition of female leaders. As empowered women, we will strive to better our communities and fight for the voices of the disenfranchised through advocating for the issues of importance to women of all ages.
The Caucus is being rebuilt and needs your help to grow into a thriving organization of professional females across our great state! Join the caucus today to be a part of a better tomorrow!

Any questions, ideas, or interest in developing a local caucus in your county may be directed to YDNC Women’s Caucus Chair through email at women@ydnc.org
